TOURNAMENTS ONLY FOR WOMEN

The last “only female” WSOP edition that has been taking place recently has a new winner: Lisa Hamilton, who not only won the bracelet, but also a fantastic prize of $195.390.

The celebration of this tournament that can only be played by women has open again the debate of whether there should be tournaments only for women or if they should always be mixed. And the thing is that no one seems to agree in this matter.
One of the female poker players more popular at the moment, Annie Duke, has already manifested that she does not agree with this type of competitions and affirmed that she will never take part in them!

In fact, on one hand female only tournaments can serve to encourage more girls to play as it may seem less intimidating. However, on the other hand, poker is one of the few sports where both men and women can compete in identical conditions, and therefore it may not be fair to have tournaments only for females.

Well, as for the moment an agreement has not been reached it seems that the polemic is going to last for a while!
